The role of First Contact MH Practitioners (MHOT) in Primary Care is to assess patients presenting with a new mental health difficulty and to decide on the most appropriate management pathway. The MHOT Practitioner has expertise in the assessment and management of mental health problems and will help you find the best way to move forward. This may be a quicker way to obtain mental health care than waiting for a GP appointment, however, there are some exclusions so please speak to the receptionist for advice.
