***Update - 24/3/2020***

Many, if not all of you , will have received a text from the government with the advice to 'stay at home'.  This is a standard text with advice, that should be followed, apart from key workers or vulnerable 'at risk' groups. Please do not call the surgery to ask for any further advice regarding the text - follow the link or await your letter if you are in the 'at risk' group.

***UPDATE - 19/3/2020***

We are receiving a significantly high volume of telephone calls at the moment.  Please bear with us, we are doing all we can to help patients at this difficult time.  Please do NOT phone us to order you medication early, if it is not due.  We will not be issuing early requests as this will lead to shortages.

If you have queries on Coronavirus, please visit NHS111 online pages for advice.  Do NOT ring the surgery.

GP APPOINTMENTS AND ONLINE APPOINTMENT BOOKING.

Whilst there is the risk of the spread of coronavirus, latest guidance is to suspend the booking of online appointments - WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

Also from Monday 16th March 2020 we are offering telephone appointments only with a GP.  This is to reduce the risk to both staff and patients by reducing footfall within the surgery.

Thank you for your consideration during this difficult time.

West Oak Surgery

The doctors and staff at West Oak Surgery Mapperley are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.

We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups. Also contraception services including implants and coil insertion and removal.

In addition to everything you need to know about the practice you will also find a wealth of health-related information in the menu on our website. Please have a look around and do send us some feedback if you like.

How to book an appointment with the Doctor..

Our current booking system has a small percentage of appointments with the Doctor which are available to book online from 7.00am onwards and the other appointments  will be released at 8.00am.

This is following feedback from our patients that are, for instance, working or getting children ready, etc and are unable to contact us at 8.00am.  We will monitor this to see how it works and appreciate any further feedback. If you are not registered for online booking then please call in the surgery with photo ID.

The majority of Doctors appointments are now available to 'book on the day.' There are routine, urgent and also telephone appointments with the GP. This should help to ensure you can be seen if you are unwell.  Please note that the receptionist will ask for a brief outline of the problem and this is to make sure we can direct you to the best person to deal with the problem. This may be a Doctor or it could be the Nurse or even your local pharmacy?

There are a limited amount of routine appointments to book in advance.

How to book: Telephone the surgery at 8am. Why not sign up for online access so you can book your own appointment online from 7am/8am on the day, or if you live nearby - you could come in to the surgery at 8am and book to come back and see the GP later.
